City break

Treat yourself to a relaxing break in Trogir, one of those picture-perfect Dalmatian seaside towns along the beautiful Croatian coast. Although it may not be as famous as its next-door neighbor Split, Trogir has a fascinating 2300 years of continuous urban tradition influenced by the old Greeks, Romans and Venetians. Located on a small islet, connected to the mainland by small bridge, the core of the old town of Trogir is the best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex not only in the Adriatic, but in all of Central Europe. Its medieval core boasts series of dwellings, churches and palaces from the Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods, but the grandest building is the magnificent church of St Lawrence along with its west main portal which is the most significant work of the Romanesque-Gothic style in Croatia.

You can easily find yourself spending hours on Trogir's main promenade just sipping coffee and watch the old syle gulets and modern yachts in harbor, or wandering around the city enjoying the buzzing Mediterranean atmosphere. However, if you feel more energetic, you will discover the advantages of Trogir's excellent location. Conveniently placed, at around only 20 kilometers from much bigger and more chaotic Split it could be used as an attractive serene base to explore Split as well as the surrounding region: the towns of Primosten and Sibenik and well known national park Krka waterfalls. Also, while staying in Trogir you could visit the near-by islands of Ciovo, Solta and Brac.

Hotel Pasike is located within the ancient walls of this wonderful UNESCO heritage site within easy walking distance of its artistic galleries, pretty cafes and authentic seafood restaurants abound. Traditional Dalmatian décor and carefully renovated antique furniture enhance the tranquil atmosphere within the hotel. Apart from hotel’s rustic interior and mild Mediterranean climate, the third ingredient that would enable you to fully experience Dalmatia is excellent Dalmatian cuisine and hotel’s traditional ‘konoba’ restaurant is a delight which shouldn’t be missed. There you can savor the local sea-food or meat specialties, accompanied by top-quality selection of wines and traditional live music performances.
